Matt Nockels

Founder and President

Matt founded Denver Lending in 2009 and has worked in the mortgage business since 2003. His approach brings financial education into the mortgage conversation so clients can evaluate more than rates and closing costs.

A Denver native and University of Northern Colorado graduate, Matt has also invested in real estate since 2006 and built a personal portfolio of as many as 12 houses. He previously taught people how to build real-estate portfolios, including a “5 in 10” framework: working toward five thoughtfully selected properties over ten years rather than trying to grow too quickly.

That ownership and teaching experience helps Matt guide Colorado buyers through house hacking, owner-occupied multi-unit purchases, conventional investment financing, DSCR options, reserves, cash flow, vacancy risk, and the financing consequences of each addition to a portfolio. Real estate can be one part of a long-term retirement strategy, but appreciation, income, equity, and investment results are never guaranteed.
